Galileo

Galileo, 5" x7.5",acrylic on cradle board
Alicia Hunsicker, 2015

I took the week off after delivering my work to the show at Omega and now I am getting back to work painting for my next show at the Geissler Gallery.  I just finished this little one (5" x 7.5") that I am calling "Galileo" after
Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist, mathematician, engineer, astronomer, and philosopher.

Galileo played a major role in the scientific revolution during the Renaissance. His achievements include improvements to the telescope and consequent astronomical observations. Galileo has been called the "father of modern observational astronomy  the "father of modern physics", and the "father of science".

Sunday was beautiful day to take the long drive to the Omega Institute to deliver the paintings for the Cosmic Bloom show. This is the last painting that was finished just in time.  I was able to see the work in the space and it's going to look great! The show will be up at the start of the Omega 2015 season and for the duration.  April 15th- Oct. 30th. So if your are in the Rhinebeck, NY area this year, please stop in and enjoy the exhibition of new paintings.

Today its all about regrouping, washing brushes, cleaning the studio...etc Then its another race to the finish line for my next exhibition at the prestigious Stoneleigh Burnham school that will take place mid Sept through October.
