Small Paintings for the Holidays

I love doing these small 5x7 paintings! I need to create more of these little jewels! I am just about out of stock now with only one left in inventory at Gallery in the Woods, in Brattleboro, VT and none left in the studio!

The one pictured here to the left, "Spherical Melody " found a home today! Thank you to the patron who bought it from Gallery in the Woods.

This new painting to the right "Golden Celestial Bloom" also a 5 x 7, found a home this
week in Germany!  Creating an intuitive painting specifically for a patron is an exciting process.   I will be sending it out this week!

If you are interested in ordering a 5x7 painting please email me at aliciahunsicker@verizon.net.  I can finish a few more before the Holidays if you are looking for a special gift. They are $300 usd each, plus shipping if applicable.

A Glimpse into the Studio

Work in progress in Alicia's studio.
Lots of new work being created in the Studio this October and November.  The painting process has begun.  I am playing with organic plant forms overlaid with fractal forms in  energetic cosmic fields.
The merging of earth and cosmic energy.

I am also starting to make some smaller pieces again.  I was thinking for the holiday season...but alas it is already upon us!   Never the less, I will be working on some 5x7's  8x10's and 12x12's.

I will also be making a new page for my website where one can browse the work available for purchase. This will be a page separate from the portfolios to make it easier for those patrons who are looking to add to their collections..or to start one!

Studio visits are welcome at this time. Please email if you would like to stop in and take a peek at the new work and browse through the current studio inventory.

I would also like to remind everyone that I have a nice selection of paintings currently at Gallery in the Woods in Brattleboro, VT.

On Facebook I was nominated to do the 7 days of gratitude challenge.

What a great reminder that I have a lot to be thankful for. They say when you focus on the positive you get more positive! So I will share this blessing here...

This week I was blessed with a sale at Gallery in the Woods. I love this little painting and am so pleased it has found a new home. :-)  A sincere thank you to the patron who bought it. May it bring you happiness and many blessings too.

Artist Reception at Gallery in the Woods

Partial installation photo of Nexus.
Paintings by Alicia Hunsicker, August 2014

Thank you to all who came out to the artist reception. It was jammed packed full of friends and new faces! I was overwhelmed with the positive response to the new work.

A special thank you to all who joined me afterward for a drink at fireworks to celebrate. They have the best fruity drinks.
I unfortunately forgot to take a photo at the reception so this one will have to do.
It is a partial installation shot of about half the show.

If you missed the reception and still want to see the show its up through the end of August. I feel that it is my best work yet and I would love to share it with you.

Sometimes its actually better to go after the reception where it can be crowded to truly appreciate the paintings. Three other stellar shows downstairs with Klaus Postler, Tim Mahurin, and Gil Perry.

James Heflin writes about Nexus in Preview Magazine Massachusetts

In the artwork of Alicia Hunsicker, the imagery of science is transformed into something vibrant and lively.  Cool-hued spheres trace playful patterns and tendrils swirl in scenes that could be underwater life, astronomical time-lapse, or subatomic restlessness. Hunsicker says her works in the show Nexus address the intersection of science and spirituality. Her paintings are part of Gallery In the Woods’ summer offerings, which also include collage-centered works by Klaus Postler. Through Sept.  —James Heflin

Quintessence Catalog now Available on Amazon

Amazon.com link

Now available for purchase this stunning exhibition catalog with artwork by Janet Morgan, PC. Turczyn, and myself with writers Amina Eagle, David Rubin, Michael Schneider, John Sims, and with an introduction by Kim Stanley Robinson

Three artists explore form, energy and movement from the smallest scale that humans have discovered to the sacred geometry of nature to the realms of the human body. Informed by science, observation and intuition, the invisible is brought to light in three distinct styles developed from deep exploration and fine craft. The word Quintessence, from the ancient Greek for the mysterious ‘fifth element’, is now used as a descriptive term in cosmology for equally mysterious ‘dark energy’. It is a fitting theme for the desire of artists to make the invisible visible and show the underlying energy sources in and around us. This is the exhibition catalog for Quintessence, Three Visions at the Ram Dass Library of the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, April 20 - October 30, 2014.
