Workshop Reviews

Dear Alicia,
I wanted to take the time to let you know that I fully enjoyed the Xerox Transfer Workshop with you that took place May 25th in Amherst, Ma.

Your mode of teaching was informative and easy to understand and follow. I loved that you could do a demonstration for us as well as having prepared, in advance, the small piece that had dried overnight. This gave us the clear understanding of how important that part of the transfer process is.

I also liked the energy of the group. Although we were all adults, it had a playful quality that kept us all happy and moving. You delivery and explanations, and the examples of your own work also supplied us with understanding and inspiration for what can be done with this process.

I sincerely thank you for your well thought out and planned delivery. I loved it and I know it will add to my own process as an artist.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a xerox transfer workshop with Alicia Hunsicker . I truly enjoyed the experience and found the workshop to be informative well organized and fun! We all got to leave the class with finished pieces which was a great feeling. I left with the knowledge if a new creative skill and one I can see using in my own work often. Alicia was enthusiastic and fun to lean from she made us feel welcomed and included! I would highly recommend this workshop to artists!!

I truly owe this one class to freeing a creative spark inside. That had a lot to do seeing the work of the artist.  Her patience, persistence, dedication is motivating and above all she truly is an artist and my respect for her work and the perfection of time and scale and vision is inspirational.

I loved this class. I got so much in so little time and it was pleasurable all the way around.

This was a wonderful opportunity to learn about a technique that was new to me and to draw inspiration from your process of creating the initial composition and seeing various stages of work in progress. You struck just the right tone between professional artist for those more advanced in the group and practical how-to instruction for those who were not practicing artists or hobbyists.
Your worksheets were great take-aways from this workshop as we follow through with future projects.  You are an excellent teacher and I look forward to more workshops from you. I enjoyed all of it ....the 3 hrs flew by!

Dear Alicia,

The balance of hands on learning and didactic was just right. Backed up by the handout, I feel fully prepared to explore this medium. The pace worked for me and alternating of structured instruction and the more spontaneous conversations while we were working on our piece made for a richer experience.

I liked the introduction you did of telling us what we were going to do and to learn orienting us to the process. The length was just right and gave us time to try out what we were learning and go deeper than the basics.

Integrating your art and giving us illustrations what can be done was inspirational. Your candidness regarding your on process and reassurances about relating to mess ups was refreshing.

Fondly and with appreciation,

Alicia Hunsicker's art is undeniably beautiful. She is an expert at extracting the highly-detailed textures and fibers of the human body, bringing them from darkness, into the light, with a technical precision that rivals any modern-day master.
