THE COSMIC METABOLISM OF FORM

I have had lots of opportunities come my way of late.  I am being pretty selective and am only committing to those I find really exciting.  One of two that I have committed to is to curate a show dealing with a topic I am now exploring in my work. I will post more details as things progress. The other is a fellowship invitation to do a residency in Austria this fall.  This residency usually includes a show at a local museum as well as day trips to surrounding areas.  One year they took a train to Venice for the day! J   I would really love to do this and have been researching travel grants to pay for airfare and train costs. I am not having much luck though!  I may have to do a Kickstarter or raffle to raise the necessary funds for travel to this residency. It is a wonderful opportunity.

Painting in Progress, 18"x 24", acrylic on cradleboard, 2012

In the studio I have been thinking a lot about the word Stream in all its meanings and connotations. This is a painting in progress that I am still working on.  I am really enjoying the direction this one is taking me.  I hope to do a few in this possible new series.
Here is a wonderful article I found in Parabola Magazine called
The Cosmic Metabolism of Form

I am loving articles and anything really that bridge science and spirituality the way I aspire to do with my paintings.

Love the deep and ambiguous spaces in this painting. Rock on sista!

Alicia Hunsicker's art is undeniably beautiful. She is an expert at extracting the highly-detailed textures and fibers of the human body, bringing them from darkness, into the light, with a technical precision that rivals any modern-day master.
