The Canal Gallery and Holyoke Paper City Open Studios

On Saturday I made it out to Holyoke to check out the Paper City Open Studio Event. I must say although we had a great time and saw some of the Gallery spaces.....Where were the Open Studios? We arrived at the Canal Gallery first it was a beautiful brick/white washed space with archways. I think it would be a nice place to have a show. The event was advertised for
noon to 9 pm on Sat. but the Building manager said the studios wouldn't be open until later that night.....we were there in the late afternoon........ah well. We went on to Race St. where there was another Gallery and an old building with art installations and in it the only two studios that we were able to see. This is the installation building .....

We also had an adventurous time driving around the city where I snapped a few photos out the window of our moving car......

We ended the day with a coffee at Eshlan Cafe in Hadley out in the beautiful garden area where I took this foliage picture

All in all it was a great trip with lots of inspiring art and great conversation.

Amazing photographs Alicia...
Your eye and technical camera skills are producing a great body of work. You may consider yourself a painter but your photos are equally articulate!
Keep up the good work...

Alicia Hunsicker's art is undeniably beautiful. She is an expert at extracting the highly-detailed textures and fibers of the human body, bringing them from darkness, into the light, with a technical precision that rivals any modern-day master.
