Galileo

Galileo, 5" x7.5",acrylic on cradle board
Alicia Hunsicker, 2015

I took the week off after delivering my work to the show at Omega and now I am getting back to work painting for my next show at the Geissler Gallery.  I just finished this little one (5" x 7.5") that I am calling "Galileo" after
Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist, mathematician, engineer, astronomer, and philosopher.

Galileo played a major role in the scientific revolution during the Renaissance. His achievements include improvements to the telescope and consequent astronomical observations. Galileo has been called the "father of modern observational astronomy  the "father of modern physics", and the "father of science".

Thank you so much Sue! It was nice to hear from you. xo~Alicia

Alicia Hunsicker's art is undeniably beautiful. She is an expert at extracting the highly-detailed textures and fibers of the human body, bringing them from darkness, into the light, with a technical precision that rivals any modern-day master.
